Reconcile
Disoriented | Kira Scheig | acrylic
Reconcile by Josefina Eggleton
When you give a small smile
Where once you would scowl
You are forgiven
For the blood drawing bites
That you left on their shoulders
For the scratch marks
Scraping paint from the walls
When you see that lofty reflection
Where once you had to jump
You are forgiven
For becoming more
More than they ever expected of you
For loving dense
Leaving fingerprints on hearts
When you find a birthmark
Where once there was nothing
You are forgiven
For the natural orders mistake
Donkey tail pinned onto your back
For the scapegoat you blamed
Gifter of your oddities and curses
When you taste desolate acres
Where once the world was plentiful
You are forgiven
For hoarding warmth in your chest
Petty like a child with toys
For not understanding the motif
Youve lived your life in
You are forgiven
Brave heart you are forgiven
Cold body you are forgiven
Gray hair you are forgiven
Cruel face you are forgiven
